TH18 Anti-3 Cake-A-Pult CWL Base

The Town Hall sits inside the Invisibility Spell Tower zone, so attackers lose track of their plan. The Cake-A-Pult sits at the top with big gaps around it and keeps firing at Throwers.

Why This Base Works

The Town Hall sits in the bottom compartment, inside the Invisibility Spell Tower zone. That breaks the attacker's plan. The Logger also gives both ground and air troops a hard time.

The Cake-A-Pult sits in the top compartment with a lot of dead space around it. Troops take a long time to reach it, and it keeps hitting them on the way.

The Clan Castle sits at the top with the King and the Queen. Your Clan Castle troops cause trouble for the enemy troops there.

Most key defenses sit with a 5-tile gap, so the Thrower cannot reach them from outside.

Two Seeking Air Mines are placed to kill a Dragon Duke that comes with the Revenge Deck equipment.

In my testing, I deployed the Duke at 3 and 9 o'clock. The Duke flew around the outside instead of going into the core. It went to the top or the bottom and ran into The Monolith, so it had a rough time.

Trap Placement

  • Tornado Traps: In front of the Revenge Tower. They slow troops down and pull them into Cake-A-Pult range.
  • Spring Traps: At the entry points. They fling out small troops like Ice Golems and Throwers.
  • Bombs and Giant Bombs: In the 3 and 9 o'clock compartments. They stop the Spirit Fox from the Royal Champion charge.
  • Air Bombs: In the 3 and 9 o'clock compartments. They take down a group of Healers.
  • Seeking Air Mines: Next to the key defenses. Place 2 mines at the 3 and 9 o'clock entry points for a Dragon Duke that comes with the Revenge Deck.
  • Ground Skeleton Traps: In the 3 and 9 o'clock compartments. They interrupt the ground push.

What Attacks Does This Base Counter?

  • Thrower: When a group of Throwers comes to the core, The Logger, the Revenge Tower, the Ricochet Cannons and the Cake-A-Pult all keep firing. The Throwers die fast.
  • Super Bowler: The Poison Spell Tower slows Super Bowlers down while the Cake-A-Pult keeps hitting them.
  • Hydra: The Air Defenses are spread out, so every angle deals damage to Dragons and Dragon Riders.
  • Dragon Duke with Revenge Deck: Two Seeking Air Mines at 3 and 9 o'clock handle it. The Duke usually flies out and walks into The Monolith, so the Revenge Deck gives much less value.

FAQ

Why is the Town Hall not centered in this TH18 anti-3 CWL base?

Anti-3 bases give up 2 stars on purpose. The Town Hall sits off center so the core defenses stay alive longer, which makes a 100% attack almost impossible.

Is giving up 2 stars on purpose a bad idea in CWL?

No. In CWL, the stars you save matter more than the stars you give up. Holding an attacker to 2 stars instead of 3 is a good trade, and this base is built to make the 3-star very hard.
